Final step in PS refurb Empty Final step in PS refurb

    Post by Westy56 Wed May 25, 2011 10:22 am

As anticipated, one of the filter caps is going in my original circuit 70.
It's the last thing to replace in the PS for this one. Is it ok to up the capacitance if using the original circuit?

I see some people are using a quad cap with higher values.

I have access to a drop in replacement with the original values. Can I do better with upped capacitance?
    Any help will be appreciated.

Except for the usual caveat about not exceeding the maximum rated capacitance of the rectifier tube at its output pin, an increase in capacitance within the capabilities of a single quad capacitor is fine and will provide greater reservoir storage and possibly better hum filtering.
