Janis from Montana Empty Janis from Montana

I have received a Janis from Mr Holger a few days ago and been putting her through her paces, I must say I was very much surprised of the performance of this phono pre-amp. I drive a pair of Zu Omen Defs with the M125's mono blocks I built. I had been running an old receiver with a phono input until the Janis arrived and it is amazing the clarity this unit puts out. She was well packed and intensively labeled as tube equipment.

Mr Holger was very helpful with emails and phone calls concerning any questions I had, very much recommend his product and services. Next on my list is an Aretha, without the phono pre of course, in matching wood. I went with this set up because I didn't see any reason to be powering the phono section of an Aretha when using other sources of inputs.

Holger's mods to the VTA gear are superb. Excellent craftsmanship, aesthetics and a few nice design tweaks as well. I am hugely pleased with my Big Boppers, which evolved from the M-125s I had originally built. And if you can bribe TMadden into building an SP-14 for you, do it! Absolutely black background, no tube hiss even at flank speed. Thanks to those guys, and to of course Bob and Roy for getting this whole thing started!

    10-E-C,
nice to read about the performance of the Janis. At some point I would like to add that to my rig.
    Bob.
