Radio Paradise

Radio Paradise is a great ad free lossless flac streaming service from California. It just got a whole lot better with a recent redesign of its web site. The new web site & player now supports lossless playback. It is user supported through donations. RP lossless is also available via IOS and Android apps, as well as Squeezbox devices.

Looking through the list of artists, they have a pretty good selection all around. I will give it a try, thanks for the recommendation.

Dire Straits is fantastic in any format. Back in 1984 when portable CD players started to appear on the market, the Dire Straits CD (Brothers in Arms) was one CD that absolutely everyone had to have. Dire Straits members Mark Knopfler and his brother David have one of the best recording studios in the world. RP streams the same format as a digital CD.

What is nice about RP, is that they have an open API. The folks on the jriver forum, jumped on this back in early 2018. It is supported in the Squeezebox world as well. The API is so simple that a lot of folks have developed Java scripts for playing the flac stream. Here is a nice one. Just click on the link!

I've been a RP listener for several years. A great, eclectic mix.

I thought this station sounded too good. It’s a choice on the blue node 2 app, tried it because it was a quick way to play something, now I’m hooked! Serendipity!

Radio Paradise has released their newly revised web player. You can select the mix, skip songs, etc. Make sure to select FLAC (lossless) in the settings.
