Khron-Hite UF-101 Amplifier

I received a mailing yesterday that informed me about some high end tube amps that I have never heard of. The name is 'Krohn-Hite UF-101' amplifier.
He provided some interesting information about the history of them, and I found it very interesting. Just when you thought you've heard it all, this comes
out. The amps were designed in 1953, and are very high end. The current price on his restored examples is high as well.

Very nice, very cool. But very pricey. Still nice to know they exist.

The designer must be of British extraction.

If Dick Burwen designed it, it’s probably pretty good.

However, it has specs like a lab grade instrumentation amplifier, but with balls.  It may sound like a lab.....

99.9999% of us will never hear it, or never afford it — both things a damn shame.

But don’t despair, you can get to 80-90% of the best there is — for peanuts prices!
