your B+ will go up 20-30vdc, some parts of the HV regulator may overhead, and if you've got good ears you may hear a harshness or edge to the sound,
none of which I would recommend to save a $5 tube.

I don't have "magic" or audiophile grade hearing, I can't hear any difference in rectifier tubes, but some people claim they can
