It is with sadness that I bring word to our community of the passing of David Bond -- a member who is something of a legend here on this forum.

    https://www.shoshonenewspress.com/local_news/20200218/a_remarkable_character

I would like to imagine the angels will laugh and cringe at the relentless wordplay between DeePee Dave and fellow forum mate Kentley.

    Rest in Eternal Peace, Dave.

    RIP Dave ..

Dave always created witty or offbeat responses on our forum ... Dave was very knowledgeable and probably had one of the best collections of NOS tubes that I know of. Below is a link to Deepee99's forum responses over the last few years ..

The most recent David Bond posts on the forum ..

Thanks for gathering those together for us, Bob. Dave was an original, not unlike those NOS tubes of his. Definitely cut from the fabric of old stock, and always there with his unique, "fresh" take to crack us up. I greatly enjoyed his humour, and looked up to him as definitely one to go to for an opinion or his perspective.

I regret I hadn't taken the time to drive down and meet him in person -- he's only a few hours away. But I'm definitely better off for getting to know him through the forum and it's PM.

Dale, man, you said it! He's made a mark on many of us, here, I dare say, and it brings a tear to my eye to be saying "good nite" and good bye.

What a funny old world in which we can be moved by people we never actually met, though somehow, obviously, we really did.

I began communicating with Dave off-list a few years ago.  One time I had not heard from him for a while, only to find out that he had shattered his wrist, made it hard to type.

It's nice to look back at his posts, thanks Bob for posting them. I looked over at his Facebook page, some funny stuff over there for sure!

Our house would not sound this good without his input, help & screaming deals on some great tubes!

We send our warmest condolences to his friends & family.

Sad news indeed, he was such an entertaining fellow, and so helpful to beginners, such as myself.

Wow. I bought my Vandersteen 5As from David in 2015. Still enjoying them - and hope to continue to do so for many years to come.

Dave was a no BS guy, hard to find that these days in our new snowflakey society. See you on the other side.
