power switch noise Empty power switch noise

Post by j beede Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:28 pm

Anyone have any luck reducing power switch turn-off pops or snaps in a Mark2/3/4 or ST-70? My Mark IIIs send a nasty "snap" when I power them down. What works?

    Hi,

Try placing a .02 uF capacitor @ 200 volts or higher across the switch terminals. Usually that will stop the noise.

    Hi Bob,
You mentioned that you could use a higher value, sorry for my ignorance but what may they be?

    Regards

You could probably use a .10 uF cap also. Just make sure that that cap is rated at 200 volts or higher ..
