What is the correct color? Empty What is the correct color?

I've had PAM-1 preamps and now am restoring a PAS 2. I believe that the top covers for these preamps were painted a barely textured cream color. I see many PAS for sale with black or brown colored covers. Is this authentic... or maybe it's an attempt to give the preamp a more updated look? Any Dyna historians out there who can remember/comment?

    J,
Early production PAS preamps with the brass face plates were painted
with a "beige" texture finish. Ugly and soon changed to the brown color
    we are most familar with.
