    A fellow in Australia had a vintage tube receiver and noticed that his receiver didn't turn on one day and there was a foul smell coming the receiver. He opened the piece up and investigated. Yep - he found a true "dead short". A mouse had crawled in there and gotten himself electrocuted.

    Reminds me of when I was in the Army in France, and working in the Post telephone exchange. We lost our 48 volt battery charger, and the trouble was found to be a mouse that had shorted out the selinium rectifier stack. Never saw that happen again until Roy's picture.

    It's a good thing that Aussie fella' didn't find a kangaroo in his amp. That would have been a real mess. affraid

    The engineers at a radio station I worked for had all kinds of tales of critters getting into the TV-FM transmitter building and frying themselves on high-voltage electronics. Mice, squirrels, snakes...! They said the worst invasion, though, was ants!
