    Hello all,

I am new to this forum. I was just given to me by the original owner, a ST70, PAS and a Tuner. I want to restore all three pieces but will start with the ST70. All three components still work and are in original condition. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Jeff

    Jeff,

If I may presume to do so, let me say welcome to the board. You've really come to the right place. I'm sure you'll find it a friendly and informative place to learn and share information and experriences about Dynaco gear.

Here's a link to some information I found useful about Dynacos, back when I was trying to make a decision or two:

    http://home.indy.net/~gregdunn/dynaco/schneider.html

And here's a discussion of comparisons between the best of the modifications available for the ST70.

I think you will see that while this amp is 50 years old, it's also very much a great modern tube amp when updated with your choice of several modifications available.

    Brenton,

The only thing is that both links are now getting dated. The upper link is circa 1994 and the lower one is 1990. Some of those items are not available anymore and some of the information may not be as accurate as possible in light of what's available today ...

The best source of NEW Dynaco amp parts today is > Dynakitparts. They have parts and new chassis's for almost any of the older Dynaco amps. If you have a Dynaco preamp and/or you want to upgrade your Dynaco amp with a better driver board and other parts then Tubes4hifi web site is probably the place to go. Sometimes you can pick up parts on Ebay but understand that you may have to wade through hundreds of irrelevent parts to find a few Dynaco parts.
