You guys on the East Coast make sure you get your gear to the second floor and don't leave it behind if you evacuate. Save the Dynacos!

Re: Shelter from the storm
Massachusetts was on the northern fringe of the storm and I did lose power for a few hours but the storm was not as bad here as hurricane Irene last year where I lost power for a week. Forum members "Sal" and "Dynakitparts" both live in New Jersey where the eye of the storm made landfall. I have Emailed both but have only received an answer back fom Sal. Text below ...
"Hi Bob,
I am doing fine here in Freehold NJ, no power, no phones including cell phones. I have a generator and back-fed it into the house so I can heat the house and cool the fridge and have some lights on here, even used the dishwasher... I have a air card I use for work so I can connect to the internet, just barely as cell phone towers were affected.
The generator is off now and I am on my laptop running on battery. I will turn on the generator for about 1 hour to heat the house and cool the fridge before I go to bed... I have to conserve on gas the whole area has no power so no gas stations are open...
Thanks for asking.
Regards,
Sal "
Addendum - I just heard by Email from Kevin (Dynakitparts) in the Clifton/Paramus area of New Jersey. Text below ..
Hi Bob,
All is OK.....Will be without power I'm told till sometime next week. Business has generator to run office only...shop is shut down. Several trees fell at home taking out power to my home. It's a mess...
Regards,
Kevin

Power to the people
Hi all,
Power was restored both at my home & business here in north NJ on Friday.
A few less trees but no major damage like so many others here on the East Coast.
I really appreciate all the emails from both friends and customers asking if all was
OK. Orders are shipping a bit slower but I expect things will be back to normal by
next week assuming I can get some damn gas.
I'm not sure if power has been restored by Sal Brisindi who is in Southern NJ..But
I know he has a generator and a fully stocked wine cellar.
Regards,
Kevin @ Dynakit

Re: Shelter from the storm
Hi Kevin,
Glad to hear that you are back in business .. I think if Sal's power loss goes on for much more time, the wine cellar could prove to be a more valuable commodity for "dealing with the situation" that the generator.
