    Factory Wired Empty Factory Wired

Did the factory wired Dynacos appear at the same time the as the kits or were they released later? I have a factory wired Mk IV and one that was a kit. and I am on the fence about rebuilding them mainly because the transformer covers are different on rear transformers and make sure the amps match.

    Hi Harpy,
The factory Wired units came later...Exactly when...I'm not sure, But would guess around the time the Mark III amp was introduced.

FYI: The 1960 Radio Shack catalog shows the Mk IV kit for $59. The 1961 and subsequent catalogs shows both the Mk IV kit ($59) and the wired version ($79).
