Hello,My first post.Haven't dug into forum too far, my subject may have been already covered.I've only owned my st-70 about a month.Inever researched 7199 tube availability before purchasing my amp.I understand this adaptation is good sounding ,at least until I decide to possibly change out the PC-3 board.Has any one used the adapter and does it sound OK? Thanks,Varlagger

Hi,
The 6GH8A tube is a tube that is very similar to the 7199 tube but it has different pin outs. You can use the 6GH8A tube as a replacement for a 7199 if you ...
A. Rewire the pin socket
OR
B. Use a 6GH8A to 7199 adapter
You can get an adapter from Dynakitparts to allow you to run a 6GH8A in place of the 7199. You just plug your adapter into the 7199 tube socket and then your 6GH8A tube into the adapter.
