Skip to 11:30 to start. Roger Modjeski speaks for about 90 minutes and gives lots of info.

If you also want to learn about sand amps then skip ahead to 1:50:30 and watch some hippy named Nelson Pass.

it gets really interesting around the 40 minute point when he starts explaining how he gets 40wpc on his RM10 amp which is a P-P EL84 amp
like the 17wpc ST-35, and he uses very small OPTs.
My favorite part 43:45 he talks about how Audio Research burns up their tubes - I've been saying that for 20+ years!
Jim McShane - you'll love the part where he talks about testing tubes 1:08 - 1:17

There are some words of wisdom in his presentation, but I'll just say that IMHO some of his test/match ideas are somewhat divorced from reality. Yes, I think many of us know that the Gm varies with plate current - but once we get past that point I don't fully agree with his positions.

He's certainly a smart guy with lots of experience and credentials, but you have to remember that he's also adopted some philosophies and taken some positions that he wants to advance - which is normal but requires us as listeners to be able to be discriminating.

I watched it and enjoyed it - and learned a few things too!
