Does using one of the new 30, 80, 40 20 Can Caps cause any different to volages or strain on the amp. I know they say to put the 80uF after the choke and 30 after the GZ34. Just wondered if these higher values do anything to the voltages or put any extra strain on the power transformer or rectifier?

About the only changes you may find is that the amps will play better at higher volume levels and you may notice a little more bass out of your amps.

Re: Higher filer cap effect on Mk3
I got these Authenticap caps today. 80 40 30 20
So how is it? 40 550V first at GZ34 on other side of choke 80 550V then? 20 550V and 30 525 last stage?
THX

Last stage should be the lowest voltage 30uF @ 525 right at bottom of pin7 or grid of 6an8?

Re: Higher filer cap effect on Mk3
Well swapped them out. Sounded fine before and sound fine now. I guess it is piece of mind. I would say slightly less hum but almost zero.. Thanx for all your help.
