The XXXIX Kutztown Radio Show begins (officially) in the wee hours of Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Renningers Antique and Farm Market, Kutztown, PA (  http://www.dvhrc.com/kutztown.html  ). This is a cast-of-thousands event, those of you who have been there understand. Those who have not, please have a look at the pictures. Although the show is primarily dedicated to vintage radios and related items, on offer will be:

    • Audio equipment – tube, solid-state and hybrid. Last Fall, the offerings spanned from McIntosh to Revox, from AR to Dynaco to KLH,  to HH Scott, and points between.
    • Vintage TVs of all ages.
    • Test equipment, tools, manuals, and more.
    • Miscellaneous electronics and related hardware of all types, ages and conditions.
    • Tubes, capacitors, parts, knobs, dial covers, repair and appearance parts of all types.
    • Much more!

I will, as usual, be running a diagnostic clinic at the club table.
Radio Free Kutztown will be broadcasting on AM and FM-Stereo also as usual.
    On-site camping is free.
    Admission is free.
The Buy-it-Now section will be open from the beginning of the show.
There is a quality auction on Friday afternoon.
    Fireworks, as usual.

We all look forward to seeing you there!

On the Dynaco side of things, while at Kutztown, I observed:

PAS in multiple versions at least five (5) separate examples. ALL of the sold, average asking price $375. Unknown what actual sale prices were, but none lingered past Friday morning, so that suggests close to asking. Lowest price was a brass-front 2 with the newer knobs and all-after-market tubes at $250.

ST-70, one example, asking $600. I did not see it sell, but it was gone from the table by 8:00 pm on Thursday.

FM-1, brass front, no MPX board, asking $100. Sold for $50.
FM-3, restored/aligned by a guy I know does very good work. Asking $70, and it sold for $70. Why so cheap? All after-market tubes and much rust on the bottom plate, no feet. But it played very nicely and had a good EMM801.

A good number of SS equipment, from SCA-80Q x 4, ST120 x 2, PAT-4 x 4 and so forth. Two pair of Dynaco speakers, including a pair I had not seen before - SEAS driver two-way speakers in the same walnut style as the typical A25s, but at about half the size with a 6" woofer and the same dome tweater. Made in Denmark, Dynaco logo. And, A25s.

This seemed to be the show for AR4x speakers - must have been 10 pair on-offer. And all of them sold by the end of Friday. Average was $200/pair. Low was $70, a pair with blown tweeters - or so stated.

The little guy with the hat sitting on the table playing the banjo?

Nossir.... I wish I were still a "little guy".

Age and guile may overcome youth and beauty 90% of the time, but one remains aged.

I would go nuts in a place with all the equipment setting around. I'm living in the wrong part of the country.

I'd be like a sumo wrestler at a free smorgasbord. Smile Thankfully it's a continent away. At least the gun shows are nearby.
