Can someone confirm the turn on and turn off procedure for the preamp and the st-120 amp. Which on first and which off first.
I've come a crossed it a few times and now that i'm looking for it I cant seem to find it.
    Thanks

Turn on the pre-amp first, then the power amp.

Turn off the amps first. Then turn off the preamp.

    Skizo.....

What they are saying is ......

    Preamp ON first them Amp...
(By doing this you're not amplifying any warm up pops or noises from the preamp and feeding them to the speakers)

    Amp OFF first then Preamp...
(By doing this you're not amplifying any switch off pops or squeaks from the preamp and feeding them to the speakers)

Of course if you have an attenuator on the Amp (Why if you have a preamp??) you could always turn this to minimum (Maximum attenuation) and that way it would not make much difference what order.

In general, tube or solid-state, with separate components:

    ON sequence:

    All attenuator/VCs at 0
All items but the power-amp go on FIRST.
    Power Amp ON.

    Off Sequence:

    All attenuators/VCs at 0
    Power Amp OFF
    Everything else OFF

Keeping in mind that the electronics are typically OK with anything in any sequence. The speakers might not be, and why the sequence matters.
