    What are your favorite “One Hit Wonders” ? These are songs put out by artists that never really had another hit. Sure, they recorded other songs/albums but none of their other songs ever did much.     All the previous ones have been classics that I forgot over the mists of time. This one is more recent and I really like the way the guitars and vocal harmonies modulate my Anodes Smile

    Don't really understand the Vapors song's lyrics but they probably could be found to be offensive.  BTW, if you search you tube for Black Betty you'll find several versions, some going way back and with differing meanings.

    Small faces didn't get very far past Itchygoo Park but its members sure did. After Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie in 1969, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Woods joined the band. Stewart dropped the "Small" from the Faces' name, then off to a solo career, while Ronnie Woods joined the Rolling Stones (along with Billy Preston) to cover for Keith Richards when he was too stoned to play or sing.

    The Left Banke had another USA hit with (the even better) Pretty Ballerina.
    The Status Quo and Small Faces did pretty well in the UK. Not so much in the USA.

    I liked Ballerina better, too, but never heard it on the air. It was on the flip side of the 45 of Renee.
