Mullard NOS GZ33 or GZ37 Rectifiers Empty Mullard NOS GZ33 or GZ37 Rectifiers

Been hearing a lot of good news on the forum about these Mullard NOS GZ33 or GZ37 Rectifiers. Also they are very tall.

I've never used any of these tubes before and was wondering if they will fit under the Dynaco ST 70 cage I'm considering to buy for my VTA ST 120 ?

I have a GZ33 in my ST-70 and the cage does not fit. But, it looks so good I don't want to cover it anyway... Very Happy

Get one of Bob's plexiglass board covers and skip the overall cover. The plexiglass looks sharp, and keeps visitor's fingers away from the high voltage.

I'm pretty sure they don't as I checked into this for my VTA ST70 a few years back. I also wanted to try the Mullard rectifiers.
I'm pretty sure the cage for the 120 and the 70 are the same.

I bought and added the plexiglass board cover with my kit when I made my purchase. Mullard NOS GZ33 or GZ37 Rectifiers 1f600

Maybe there is a way to add a .55 inch riser to the bottom of the cage ? I do believe the KT 120 tubes fit if I'm not wrong ? There is only a 0.55 inch difference between the KT-220 and the GZ33/37.

    Hummmmm ? Thinking here......

KT120's definitely fit under the Dynakit tube cage with little room to spare.  I have no experience with the GZs

From the top surface of the socket with the tube inserted, my Mullard GZ33 measures 5.0 inches.

Depending on how much of the GZ33 would extend past the top of the cage, you could consider cutting a hole in the cage to allow it to protude.
