    Psvane KT88C and ST-120 Empty Psvane KT88C and ST-120

    Hi,

I saw these Psvane KT88C's from VIVA Tubes. Has any tried these on their ST-120? I have seen both good and bad reviews on the Psvane KT88's. Not sure if it is an Ebay counterfeit issue or not. I would like to try these, but not if they cause fuses and resistors to pop.

    Thanks
    Scott

Hi All. I am about 2 hours in with these Psvane's from VIVA Tubes and these are my new favorites! Greater punch and clarity all the way up. I originally had the Tung-sol 6550's. I like them, but they just wouldn't last very long for some reason. I then went to Sovtek 6550WE's. They all lasted but I missed the "punch" I felt with the Tung-Sol's. Now I have these Psvane KT88C's and I like them SO much better. Time will tell if they work, but obviously not like those Ebay KT88C versions. I think ppl said they blew fuses right away. I have checked 3 times and the bias is stable at .50v on the meter. Not sure how these stack up against other K88's.

Just an update on these KT88C tubes. The more I listen to them, the more I wish I would have had these in my St-120 a long time ago.

Not to get off topic but if Tungsol KT-120s are ever reasonable again, you will enjoy them in your ST120.

I started out w/ TS 6550s and liked them a lot. I had tried some EH KT88s that were nothing special. When I went looking again, KT-120s were within a few dollars of GL KT-88s so I went for the 120s. To me they're like a 6550 w/ more oomph.
