Got me a GLTER-1003 185nWb/m calibration tape yesterday from gennlab.com and did the calibration last night. The first reel of ATR MDS-36 also came in.
Unfortunately there's just a bit of distortion on the CH3 recorded signal to track down, there's amplification but some slight distortion on the recorded signal, so I'll be hunting down a wayward cap or two.
3D printed me a tape-splicing block, put leaders on the new tape and recorded end to end using CH 2 and 4 with a variety of music and the reproduction is truly amazing! ..... there's something beautiful about the sound of tape.
So it's coming along nicely. My red NAB hub Adapters should be here next week.

Edited my previous post regarding ATR Magnetics. Sorry about that. Cletus -- hope your deck is working well. I have also bought leader tape/splicing block from Splicit Reel Products. Tried their SM900 Masters tape which worked out well.
