Dynaco Pas 3 vs. Pas 3 series II Empty Dynaco Pas 3 vs. Pas 3 series II

Post by redline Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:02 pm

    Hello everyone,

Recently, I bought a Dynaco Pas 3 series II which is constructed in a black case, unlike the Pas 3 brass plated. I would like to know the difference between the two the +/- vs the other. I have not seen any reviews or discussions in the web for the series II. Perhaps people who are in depth with Dynaco will surely help.

    Regards,

Dynaco Pas 3 vs. Pas 3 series II Empty PAS3 series 2 preamp

    Hi Redline,
I've got a manual and schematic for the PAS3 series 2, it's a very nice preamp,
not sure but I believe the circuits are similar to the Norman Koren design, and
it uses a regulated B+ and filament supply. They are very rare, even more so than
the even better PAS4 which I've seen a few of and have photos of.
I've never actually seen one so it would be nice if you could take a few photos of the inside and outside and either post them or email them to me for my archives.
I don't have the manual on my computer, but I will plan to scan and post in a few days

    Hello Mr. Roy,

I will take some detail pictures and email it to you shortly. I will be delighted if you could give me a copy and schematic & manual of the Pas3 series II. But, I've noticed it has 6 tubes (12AX7 I think?) compared with Pas3, 3 for line stage & 3 for phono preamp Very Happy .

    Cheers,
