    6dj8 in a ph16? Empty 6dj8 in a ph16?

Will 6dj8s work in place of 6922s in a ph16?

I’m considering building a ph16 and have plenty of 6dj8s on hand. I’d have to go shopping for 6922s.

    Those are interchangeable.

I have a PH 15. It uses the 6922 type tube (there are several variants). I'm not a tech but I think the phono pre-amp is the most critical spot for really high quality tubes. Get the best tubes you can afford.

6DJ8s are electrically identical to 6922, but I've never found any 6DJ8s as quiet as 6922s.
The EH6922s that I sell with the PH16 are super quiet and have great sound, but yes, you can use 6DJ8s,
your sound quality may vary. Tubes are awfully cheap compared to the price of the preamp!
