    Can I substitute a 5U4G rectifier for the GZ34 in a VTA ST-120?

Yes - you can use a 5U4 rectifier in the VTA ST-120 BUT the B+ voltage of the amp will drop below 475 volts somewhere and ...

    1. The amp will bias at a different point
    2. You will lose some overall power ... maybe 5 watts - BUT - unless you play the amp loudly, you may not notice any difference in the amp's power ..
