I have been, and still are in some, a member of various forums over the years.
I am really impressed and pleased with the enthusiasm and knowledge base of this forum, I have learned so much from here in just the few months that I have been a member.
But THE best thing about this forum, no bitching, bitch slapping, name calling, finger pointing....it is so nice and enjoyable not having to put up with all that kind of bs!!!  cheers

Hats off to all members here, wether you like it or not, I am staying here!!!  What a Face

Not to forget, half the lies I tell you are not true ...

+1 on the praise though. I managed to work myself into a few corners during my build. Probably still be pacing around, butting my head into the walls, if it weren't for the help of Bob and the Board.

"Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."

Don't mind her ... I've been channeling the ghost of Vivien Leigh lately. She was a movie star.

"I'm not a movie star, I'm an Actress!"

You're dead ... so shut up already.

"I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow."

skizo, It's hard to believe, but I think that was the first song/recording I remember ever being band from the airways.
Another one I never hear anymore is "Rusty Chevrolet" a Christmas song not sure why it's never played.
Anyway probably should stop breathing so much solder fumes. Put down the solder gun and walk away.  lol!

While we are the subject of thanks
Bob and company I listen to my ST-120 daily and continue to be blown away by how incredible it sounds Thank You!!
I also have to call sKizo out after Months of resisting his daily posts/ taunts about how sweet his custom ST-120 sounds with the big bottle Tung-Sol KT-120s I finally gave in and bought a set biased them up at .575 and cranked her up!!!!
I could tell the difference over the Sovtek KT-88s right from the start and cant wait to get some hours on'em
I was surprised they fit under stock hood (Just barely) to keep the grand kids safe.

PS got a couple Copper caps on the way may have to build a couple M-125s to scratch that itch..................
PPs, that is one BadAzz Kat.

    Bob,
Your cat's AK needs a muzzle brake; way too much rock & roll.
Cereally, I appreciate the comity of this board as well. It's a helluva lot of fun, esp.when we can get sKIzo wound up about something and he gets his PhotoShop out, which is as dangerous as an AK in the hands of a cat with Parkinson's.
@Maintarget, all I can say is, go for the M-125s. But you'll have to scout around for a couple of antique GZ-33 Mullards, getting hard to find and they're running about $100 a pop now, so by all means blow up a few Webers first while you're tweaking things.
IMHO, the New Sensor Russian Tung-Sol KT-120s, especially in triode mode, will stand up to the hugely more expensive NOS KT-88s and are near equal to the original New Jersey-made Tung-Sol 6550s which are going for $150 a crack, and will run circles around the old GE 6550s. As for longevity, I can't speak to that, but I run mine biased at .55 at least five hours a day for the past 18 months and while the getters fogged up early, they're still carrying their mud and weekly bias checks show no degradation.
I have friends with great old Mac and new ARC tube gear who break down and weep when they hear my system.

SKiZo, you know that tune was written about a dog, don't you? That song, and Surfin' Bird, well they bent what was left of me after being breast-fed on Rocky & Bullwinkle. Of course, Firesign Theater was the final blow. "Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers" and "Waiting for the Electrician or Someone Like Him" -- still waiting for the electrician.

One of the things I miss about the 60's and 70's were all of the 1 hit wanders. You never knew what new and different music you were going to hear over the old radio. 2 examples in point. There coming to take me away and Rusty Chevrolet.

Just the threat of Bob's Kalishna-kitty must be silently working it's intimidating magic. Other forums often feature. . . Well, behavior worthy of a visit from the Kalishna-cat. Not here. Never seen it.

It's not fear of that cat with Parkinson's that disciplines this board. It's that after you've connected your wedding ring with a little B+ juice, you tend to respect the advise of others and seek it out. And no, I've never seen any flamers or food-fights on this board either, unless Bob pulls them off as quick as they post. Comity seems to rule, and I think it's rather self-policing, as such must be in polite society.

I have to agree. I posted on another forum and was instantly classified as an idiot because I'd only had 3 previous posts (by the way I was right, it was a bad capacitor). I don't post a lot on any forums but on this one I am treated with respect. Means a lot. I too have learned a LOT from the collective wisdom of this forum.

GLAD you agree.  Bob must keep a good lid on things, though.  Trolls can appear from nowhere.

Another board I frequent, quite a bit busier than this one, is USUALLY civil, with diverse opinions
normally expressed with respect, and debate on the merits of the ideas being respectful, with
support from experience in the field where applicable.

But now along has come a troll who first writes:

...each one has its own " solution ", many of those solutions (I respect all [emphasis mine -GP49])...

    Then:

...many of the people that give those solutions even don't understand the whole subject

...In this forum people spread a non proved old information...this is not only a misunderstood but certainly way WRONG.
...please do it a favor and forget about that.

...IMHO other wrong information spreaded in this thread...

...IMHO old myths are only that: myths that help no one, not even to whom spreaded today.

So out of one side of his mouth, he speaks of "respect" while from the other spew words like
"don't understand," "forget about that," "wrong," "old myths," "help no one," "wrong information,"
"certainly way WRONG" ... you get the idea. Fortunately, if he is baiting others to argue with
him, thus far he hasn't managed to get the argument started.

To the many members on this forum, and to Bob:  THANK YOU for making this such a friendly place!
