I have the ST-120, I am using KT-88 Gold Lions and RCA 5963 tubes. Iam curious of what the majority like and prefer in their ST-120.

Re: ST-120 and Tubes?
I am currently running KT-120's in mine, sounds great.
I am thinking of trying out some KT-88 Gold Lions just to see the difference.

I went from the gold Lions to the KT-120's i found the 120's much better and lasted years longer.
If mine ever we're out i'm thinking of using the KT-150's in my ST-120

Re: ST-120 and Tubes?
Currently Tung-Sol rectifier, Tung-Sol 6550, NOS 1957 Tung-Sol 12BH7A (center) and NOS TungsRam 12AU7A. So far this is the best combo for me.
I never thought the phase inverter tubes would add much to the SQ but with the TungsRam tubes the amp just seems more full than with 6189W Tung-Sols. Seems to have more ambience. The Tung-Sol 12BH7A seems to be the 'sweetest' vs RCA that I've used prior. I have an older RCA with shiny black plates and a foil getter that might bring more to the mix.
